Music Man
Character: Ensemble, Dancer
Director: Anna Murdock
Location: Spanish Fork High School
Year: 1987
Beverly Thomas, Music Director; Anna Murdock, Director; Collette Smith, Choreographer.
Collette was my sister Cami's dance instructor at the time and she brought many of her troop to help perform in this show, including her ballet-gifted daughter. She performed a beautiful ballet piece against the musical backdrop of the musical heartfelt scene.
Statue played by Darwin Thomas, the musical director's husband.
My mom has done this show 3 times and each times she's opted to use a real person for the statue of the town's founder. Only once in the show does he move, during one of Marion Parue's songs. At the climax of the song he simply tips his hat to her and then resumes his statuesque position. The audience never suspects that its a real person and they freak out every time.
My sister Cami played Zenetta. "Ye gads!" Blaine Lee in the center.
The whole Shinn family.
"Marshmallow?" *Duck* *Slap!* "Opps...!"
My youngest brother Kenny is in blue down front. The Music Man was played by Jim Bushman. Sara Thomas is to Jim's left.
